Greg Mitchell

Chief Financial Officer

Chief Financial Officer of Providence Health Group, LLC began his career in Long-Term Care in 1998.  Greg’s initial exposure to healthcare came in 1989, at the age of 14, when he worked in Environmental Services at Martha Jefferson Hospital in his hometown of Charlottesville, VA. There, he learned that acts of service do have equal impact regardless of one’s role in the organization.

After obtaining a double major in Business Administration and Long-Term Care Administration from Southern Adventist University in 1998, Greg worked with a national nursing home chain where he quickly advanced through the Administrator-in-Training program and operated his first skilled-nursing facility in Rutledge, TN.  From there, Greg’s career took him around the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic.

Greg joined Signature Healthcare in 2007 as the administrator at The Bridge at South Pittsburg. While there, he led the home through significant transition increasing occupancy by nearly 50% and adding jobs in a community challenged with high unemployment. While in South Pittsburg, Greg completed his Executive MBA at the University of Tennessee – Knoxville in 2010.

Shortly after completing his MBA, Greg became Financial Controller for Serenity Healthcare, a subsidiary of Signature Healthcare, LLC. His two years in this role fueled his passion for operational finance. In 2013, Greg became the Vice President of Operations for Signature Healthcare’s skilled nursing facilities in east Tennessee. He successfully operated 12 locations, navigating changes in Tennessee’s reimbursement and adding a management contract with a large health system for a 34-bed SNF with a post-acute focus. All of this was accomplished while advancing culture change and successfully adding homes to the Eden Registry. This included the first Eden Milestone 2 accredited home in the state of Tennessee.

Greg is dedicated to family.  He and his wife, Teri, have been married for 17 years and have been blessed with six children. Their three sons and three daughters range in age from 2-16. As a family, they enjoy the outdoors and exploring new places.
